  • Entry Rules

  • Eligible:   Students in grades 3rd-8th (or age 8-14)

    Entries:   One (1) poem per student, any subject

    Format:   Three (3) typed or printed lines, 5-7-5 syllables

    Prizes:   $100, $50, $25, $20, certificates, etcetera; Poets read at Haiku Fest 2012 Awards Program

    Deadline:   The deadline for submission was Saturday, 24 March 2012 @ 12:00 MIDNIGHT.

    Winners:  Finalists will be announced 28 April 2012; Winning Poets, Teacher-of-the-Year and School-of-the-Year must be present to read and accepts their awards in person at Carter G. Woodson Regional Library, 9525 South Halsted, Chicago, Illinois

    All poets grant Haiku Fest permission to use poems on the website, in ads, and annals. Submission certifies that the poet is the sole author, and that the poem submitted is original.
